My Cartoon Life Early in my career working with special needs children, a girl I was particularly connected to, asked me, in the midst of great pain, "Why the hell did God make me a f...ing person?. I wish he had made me a cartoon." I've always remembered that, and her. I can imagine that a life of black and white, on a 2 dimensional plane might indeed be a comfort as we grapple with life's big questions.
